Hello! I’m Leah. I have always been passionate about working with children and families since my early teen years. From working at overnight camp to babysitting to professionally providing therapy services, my passion for this work continues to grow and evolve.
Oftentimes one’s feelings are not validated or told that what they are experiencing is “not a big deal.” That can be very frustrating; especially as a teen! My goal as a clinical therapist is to help people, no matter their age, work through their trauma and life struggles. Throughout my life I have had my own personal experiences with trauma and how it can impact you as an individual. Growing up with constant access to tech and social media, especially during unprecedented times, is very tough! It is my job to support you through it all.
As a clinical therapist I ensure that my clients feel validated and empower them to make a positive change in their life. My specialty lies in working with both young children and adolescents, with a focus on anxiety, behavioral issues, emotion regulation, and addressing low self-esteem. My therapeutic approach is person centered, with a focus on self determination, mindfulness, and commitment. I utilize evidence based practices such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and group therapy to aid in positive and meaningful change.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Oakland University and my Masters degree of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. I understand that starting therapy is no easy feat. I am here to make this experience comfortable, welcoming, and effective!
