Hi, I’m Mickey! I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Therapyology as I work towards a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan. I discovered my passion for working in the mental health field in college where I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and also minored in Women and Gender Studies. Learning about intersecting factors, including gender and sexual identity, that impact psychological functioning has informed my professional interest in serving LGBTQ+ youth. After graduating, I worked for almost four years as a residential counselor with youth experiencing acute behavioral health crises, where I led skill-based groups and implemented behavioral interventions. From this work I developed an interest in preventive mental health care, so that youth and families feel they have the support and resources needed before a crisis arises. I’m eager to contribute my experience and enthusiasm to the dynamic team at Therapyology and work to empower youth and families to meet their mental health needs!
